About Nakuru Golf Club

Nakuru Golf Club was opened in 1929 by Lord Francis Scott and rests on the slopes of the volcanic Menengai Crater. It is the only uphill course in Kenya – the rolling fairways gradually lead to the mostly uphill greens. Spectacles of the blazing coral pink flamingo patches dotting the deep blue hue of Lake Nakuru, greet your eyes on the 8th and 18th tees. In the dry season, the course is difficult to play due to lack of a proper watering system. This championship course is visually pleasing and has some unusual challenges, and is therefore exciting to play.

Nakuru Golf Club is an 18 hole golf course located near the Menengai Crater, has a breathtaking view, and has very hospitable members and staff. Nakuru Golf Club is a unique golf club located in Nakuru town at the heart of the rift valley and next to Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital. They have a beautiful course that boasts a membership of highly dignified individuals in Nakuru and Kenya at large. It is the premier golf club in Nakuru and its environs, providing beauty and serenity on location.

It is located a few meters to town, a few kilometers away from Lake Nakuru National Park and the scenic Menengai Volcanic Crater, and just 160km away from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Their golf course was built in 1923, opened in 1929 & extended to 18 holes in 1935.

It is an 18- championship course with a length of about 6802 yards and a par of 73.
